Poured Out: Week 3 - The Lord Will Provide
In Week 3 of Poured Out: A Study on Sacrifice, we turn to one of the most difficult and powerful passages in Scripture: Abraham’s test on Mount Moriah. After years of wavering faith, delayed promises, and deep suffering, God asks Abraham to give up the very son through whom the covenant would be fulfilled. What follows is not blind obedience, but a mature faith shaped by experience—one that trusts God even when the command seems unbearable.
This study highlights how God uses testing to refine faith and deepen trust. Abraham’s declaration, “The Lord will provide,” reveals a God who sees His people fully and faithfully acts according to His promises. Ultimately, this story points forward to the gospel: God does not demand the final sacrifice from Abraham—but He gives His own Son for us. In response, God calls His people not to empty rituals, but to lives marked by obedience, trust, and surrender.
